Substitute Food Service Worker

Half Hollow Hills Food Services Department is seeking candidates for Substitute Food Service Workers. What we offer includes a competitive hourly pay rate starting at $21.26 per hour, participation in the NY State Retirement System 403B Retirement Plan, work life balance with the school calendar, various shifts available, professional development, and opportunity for advancement. Duties include assisting in preparation of food, serving food, continuously cleaning work areas, following directives of Cook Manager and/or Lead Food Service Worker, effective and appropriate communication with students and staff, cashiering and daily cash register reconciliation, and must be willing to perform all aspects of food service and travel throughout the district. Physical/Other Requirements include the ability to stand and move on your feet for extended periods, lift/move food cases weighing up to 40 pounds, work with exposure to varying temperatures (ie: ovens and freezers), and must be able to speak and understand English to ensure clear communication with students and staff, to provide safe and effective service in the school cafeteria. Hours vary depending upon location, between 7:00am and 2:30pm.
