Bilingual Family Support Specialist (190) Sign-On Bonus When you apply and get hired, you are eligible for a $500 sign-on bonus. Job Type/Status: Full-Time Salary: $26.93 per hour Position Summary The Family Support Specialist (FSS) will work directly with families in the program to ensure their needs are met, family goals reached, and will maintain a long‑term relationship with the family. Home Visitation will be conducted in‑person in the home. Duties and Responsibilities FSS will outreach families referred through Central Intake, a Service Provider or by word of mouth within 48 hours of receiving the referral and promptly document in FamSys. FSS will actively outreach referrals and assist in outreach activities such as resource fairs, speaking engagements, networking opportunities, etc. FSS will maintain a home visitation case weight of 26, or an enrollment of 18‑21 families, depending on case weight. FSS will attend weekly supervision with their direct supervisor and participate in all staff meetings and trainings. FSS will use a standardized screening tool to determine eligibility for home visitation services. Home visitation scheduled by level will occur primarily within the participant's home; each visit should last for at least one hour. Home visits should be in person, not virtual. FSS will assist in the planning and implementation of family group activities. The interventions should be family-centered and strength-based. Home visitation documentation should be completed thoroughly within 48 hours of visiting the family. FSS will interview/conduct the F.R.O.G. scale with parents to identify strengths and risk factors to support the family throughout home visitation services. The F.R.O.G. scale should be completed at the second visit. FSS will participate in selected studies that are administered by PCA, DCF or John Hopkins. FSS links families to supportive services that help stabilize the home. FSS participates in professional seminars, conferences, workshops, etc. or in‑service training programs. The FSS with an expertise may conduct trainings/seminars within her program and/or community. FSS conducts surveys with the community to determine needs and satisfaction with services at the Center. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a high school diploma/GED equivalent with two years of experience in working with children (ages 0-3) and families or, Bachelor's degree or higher Fluent in English and Spanish (speaking, reading and writing) License and Certifications Must have and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing. Must have and maintain valid automobile insurance/registration if driving personal vehicle. Preferred - current CPR certification.
