Accounting Specialist

A growing manufacturing company in Conroe is seeking an experienced AR/AP Accounting Specialist for a temporary assignment covering a maternity leave. This position will support the accounting department with day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting activities. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with both AP and AR, is proficient in QuickBooks, and can quickly step into a busy accounting environment with minimal training.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices, including reviewing, coding, and entering invoices into QuickBooks.
• Support accounts receivable activities, including billing, payment posting, and maintaining customer account records.
• Communicate with vendors and customers regarding invoice and payment inquiries.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and assist with general ledger activities.
• Prepare basic journal entries and provide general accounting support as needed.
• Utilize QuickBooks and Excel to maintain and update accounting information.
• Assist the Finance Manager and accounting team with additional projects and daily accounting tasks.

Requirements

• 35+ years of accounting experience, including hands-on accounts payable and accounts receivable responsibilities.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, preferably QuickBooks Desktop.
• Working knowledge of general accounting principles and basic journal entries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities.
• Immediate availability or ability to start on short notice.
• Comfortable working onsite in Conroe for a short-term assignment.
