Job Description
The Music Teacher will design and deliver general music education tailored primarily for adults with special needs, including those with autism. This solo role focuses on creating an inclusive learning environment that fosters vocal and musical skill development without the pressure of performance settings, primarily through one-on-one instruction that blends in-person and remote formats.
Responsibilities
- Develop curriculum that meets the unique needs of adults with special needs and autism
- Plan and implement engaging lesson plans focusing on vocal training and general music education
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Provide individualized instruction through hybrid delivery methods
- Maintain a supportive and patient approach to enhance student confidence and participation
- Promote skill development, social interaction, recreational enjoyment, and therapeutic outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in music education
- Experience with detailed lesson planning
- Patience and empathy when working with special needs populations
- Creative approaches to teaching music to adults with unique learning requirements
- Curriculum design and special needs education background
