Role Summary

We are seeking detail-oriented and active Back of House Associates to join our team in Westport. In this role, you will act as a primary e-commerce order fulfillment specialist—similar to a personal shopper or order puller. You will accurately select, pick, and securely pack fresh groceries and specialty products for online orders and deliveries, ensuring every package meets Double L Market’s high standards of quality and care.

Key Responsibilities

• • Order Fulfillment & Picking:

  • Review incoming digital and online orders for accuracy.

• • Accurately locate, select, and pull fresh produce, meats, seafood, pantry items, and specialty goods across market shelves and storage areas.

  • Inspect items during selection to ensure maximum freshness, high quality, and proper visual presentation.
  • Communicate with customers either via text and phone.

• Packing & Staging:

  • Carefully pack grocery boxes and bags for home delivery and customer pickup, taking care to separate temperature-sensitive, fragile, and heavy items.

  • Label and stage finalized packages in designated holding areas (refrigerated, frozen, or ambient) for delivery drivers or customer pickup.

• Inventory & BOH Maintenance:

  • Assist in receiving, restocking, and organizing stockroom and back-of-house storage areas.

  • Monitor product inventory levels and inform management of low stock or damaged goods.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary back-of-house workplace following all local food safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Prior experience in retail, grocery picking, stock room, warehouse, or e-commerce order fulfillment (e.g., Whole Foods shopper, Instacart, or specialty market background) is a plus, but not required.

• Attention to Detail: Eye for detail to select the freshest produce and carefully pack orders without damaging products.

• Physical Ability: Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 40–50 lbs comfortably throughout a shift.

• Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a close-knit team in a fast-paced environment.

• Communication: Clear communication skills to communicate with customers via text and phone conversations, collaborate with front-of-house staff, drivers, and market team members.
