Night Custodian

Night Custodian The Petersham Center School is seeking a night custodian. Hours for this position are Monday – Friday 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm. Salary: $18.15 – $25.29 per hour based on experience. Paid hourly under the supervision of Head Custodian. General Duties Do general cleaning of classrooms, corridors, toilets, and other areas; work areas are assigned by the Head Custodian. Works under the supervision of Head Custodian. Specific Duties Empty trash containers. Dry mop all classrooms and areas assigned. Vacuum throw rugs by entranceways. Clean fixtures in all male lavatories; wet mop floors. Vacuum rugs. Clean all window ledges, chalkboard chalk trays, and other dust‑collecting surfaces. Perform other custodial tasks as designated by Head Custodian. Assist with corridor stripping and waxing when conducted. Mop or wet towel corridors on a daily basis. Remove black marks from corridors. Remove all graffiti when discovered. Ensure all windows are secured and locks doors on departure from each area. Wash classroom doors and corridor windows daily as needed. Wet mop corridor floor daily. Wet mop Medical & Health suite with disinfectant daily. Dust and wet mop cafeteria and kitchen daily, as directed by Head Custodian. Lift, move, and rearrange school furniture as needed for room cleaning and scheduled events (some heavy and repetitive lifting involved). Perform other duties as assigned by Head Custodian/Principal. Position Type Full‑time. Job Requirements Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
