Senior Paralegal with Security Clearance

Senior Paralegal – Full‑Time – Department: Legal Responsibilities Prepare various technical legal documents, including indictments, arrest warrants, summonses, true bills, motions, orders, NDAs, plea agreements, grand jury and trial subpoenas, and legal memoranda. Review incoming documents, assess case status, and identify required information from criminal case files, law enforcement agencies, and other sources. Ensure recurring legal documents conform to local court rules, style, and format guidelines. Assist attorneys by compiling trial and witness notebooks, preparing and organizing trial exhibits, assembling jury instructions, and compiling witness and exhibit lists. Coordinate with victim/witness specialists to maintain adherence to departmental guidelines concerning victims’ rights and services. Verify citations using Westlaw, Lexis/Nexis, and other legal resources, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Proofread, edit, and revise legal briefs. File legal documents electronically with the U.S. District Court via the CM/ECF system. Develop and organize tables of contents and indices for briefs, listing cited cases and opinions. Compose original correspondence requiring strong knowledge of legal procedures and terminology. Transmitting proposed orders to court, requesting extensions of time, and advising on actions or developments in cases referred by other federal departments and agencies. Notify attorneys representing defendants and potential issues. Scan, input, and link case‑related materials into electronic discovery databases; manage databases, upload and download documents, and oversee discovery processing and production. Perform bates‑stamping, redacting, and other discovery methods using Adobe Acrobat and IPRO Eclipse. Send continuing discovery to defense counsel as directed. Maintain electronic case files, enter data in case‑management system, calendar deadlines using MS Outlook, and file conflict‑of‑interest and case‑opening forms. Qualifications Paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA‑accredited law school (≥1 year of study). At least two years of litigation paralegal experience; trial experience highly desirable. Minimum one year of experience in automated litigation support. Strong working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures and resources. Excellent written and oral communication skills; proficiency in LEXIS and Westlaw. Hands‑on familiarity with document processing, database, spreadsheet, imaging, and hardware applications. Experience with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources. Ability to deliver high‑quality work under pressure.
