Job Title: Motor Rewinder / Rewind Helper

Job Description

The Motor Rewinder / Rewind Helper supports experienced technicians by preparing work, documenting winding data, and assisting in the rewinding of electromechanical equipment. This role focuses on ensuring motor repairs are completed safely, accurately, and on time, while building strong foundational skills in electromechanical repair and shop processes. The position offers a clear path to grow into a full Motor Rewinder role over time through hands-on training and exposure to a wide range of repair tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with stripping damaged windings from electromechanical equipment in preparation for repair.
• Support the documentation of winding data from equipment being repaired in the rewind department to ensure accurate records and repeatable processes.
• Help inspect equipment for structural damage and assist with cleaning, preparing, and insulating laminations for rewinding.
• Assist in rewinding various types of electromechanical equipment as directed by senior technicians.
• Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, such as burnout ovens, VPI tanks, cranes, core loss testers, and test panels, under guidance and in accordance with safety procedures.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment to support motor repair and related shop tasks.
• Observe all safety procedures consistently and use proper personal protective equipment at all times.
• Provide dependable technical and operational support to the motor rewinding team to help achieve high-quality, on-time repairs.
• Collaborate with other team members in a job shop environment, assisting as needed to meet customer deadlines and production schedules.
• Develop skills and knowledge with the long-term goal of progressing into a full Motor Rewinder position.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude and experience working with mechanical systems.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools in a shop or repair environment.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Familiarity with 3-phase, AC/DC motors and power transmission components.
• Experience or exposure to motor repair, automotive repair, or similar mechanical repair work.
• Ability to work with motor controls and perform basic electrical wiring tasks under supervision.
• Comfort operating or learning to operate specialized repair equipment such as burnout ovens, VPI tanks, cranes, core loss testers, and test panels.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and using appropriate protective gear.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in a busy job shop environment.
• Strong attention to detail when documenting winding data and preparing components for rewinding.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with welding in a mechanical or industrial setting.
• Background in automotive repair or other hands-on mechanical trades.
• Interest in developing long-term skills in electromechanical repair and motor rewinding.
• Willingness to learn new tools, equipment, and processes in a technical shop environment.
• Comfort working in a setting with multiple ongoing projects, moving parts, and changing priorities.
• Ability to adapt to deadline-driven work when customer equipment arrives with urgent timelines.

This is a Permanent position based out of Harrisburg, PA.

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $49920.00/yr.

Direct hire opportunity Ability to grow and transfer into different divisions of the company Benefits; Capital Blue: It’s a high deductible plan. Company pays the majority of the premium. Employee is responsible for $300 annual premium only. The deductible is $13,300 but the employee is only responsible for $3200 if married and $1500 if single. Company pays the rest. Position starts with 10 vacation days. 1 day per year is added up to a maximum of 20 days 5 Personal time off days per year. 7 paid holidays 401K and ESOP – guaranteed 2% of annual salary is contributed annually by the company but historically since the company has been profitable has been 25% . The employee has the option to contribute weekly from their pay as well if they like.

This is a fully onsite position in Harrisburg,PA.
