Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-home therapy sessions and group therapy meetings with children and their families, focusing on enhancing emotional and behavioral regulation.

• Implement evidence-based strategies targeting coping skills, anger management, and social skills to reduce high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behaviors and physical aggression.

• Facilitate collaboration between child family treatment teams, schools, and healthcare professionals to provide a holistic approach to each child’s therapy.
\n
• Maintain comprehensive and timely clinical documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
\n
• Engage regularly in team meetings, contributing insights to enhance treatment plans and improve client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses on a diverse clientele, primarily children aged 3-20 who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will work closely with families as primary caregivers to ensure they receive the support necessary to navigate the challenges of raising children with special needs. By working in-home or via telehealth, you will adapt to various settings to best serve your clients.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
\n
• A valid and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
\n
• Completion of a thorough criminal background check, including fingerprints.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience supporting positive behavior interventions with children having developmental disabilities.
\n
• Experience working with children in the age range of 3-20 and those specifically facing intellectual challenges.
\n
• Flexibility to work weekends and availability for evening sessions (4-7 pm), adapting to the schedules of families.
