Ophthalmology - Physician - Manhattan, NY

Job Description Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a full‑time Ophthalmologist to cover three locations in Manhattan. Locations Mount Sinai Doctors – West 57th Street – a complete range of health services in a convenient Midtown location near Times Square, Broadway, and Rockefeller Center. Mount Sinai Doctors – West 53rd Street and 8th Avenue – located in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, which offers a blend of upscale dining and community amenities. Mount Sinai Doctors – Delancey Street – on the Lower East Side, providing primary and specialty care for adults and children with extended evening and Saturday hours. Responsibilities Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases and conditions. Perform necessary surgical procedures, including pre‑ and post‑operative examinations and patient self‑care education. Provide health education, counseling, and establish preventive health practices. Initiate laboratory, radiology, pathology exams and specialty consults as required. Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care and consult/refer to appropriate specialists for high‑risk or complex patients. Supervise optometrists from time to time. Foster a professional, collaborative work environment with all team members and colleagues. Provide case management with other health‑care team members. Qualifications Medical degree from an accredited university. Ability to obtain a NewYork license. Board certification or board eligibility in Ophthalmology. Active DEA license and BLS/ACLS certification. Demonstrated professional competence, integrity, and ethical conduct of practice. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, bedside manner, and organizational skills. Patient‑focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care to all patients. A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team‑oriented, performance‑driven health system. Compensation range: $290,000 – $320,000 (excluding bonuses/incentives or benefits).
