Mental Health Technician Day Shift

The Brook Hospital has been offering hope to individuals, families, and communities since 1985. The Brook is the leader in providing quality mental health and addiction treatment services. The Brook Dupont, located in Louisville, KY, is an 88-bed hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient, extended care, partial hospitalization and outpatient services for adults.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team on the day shift. In this role, you will support the safety, structure, and therapeutic environment of our patients by working closely with the multidisciplinary team.

Job Duties:

• Performs safety checks daily and as needed per guidelines
• Knows location and condition of all patients at all times
• Ensure proper hand off of clinical information
• Assists in management of behavior and control of destructive/unsafe behavior per facility guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Requirements:

• Education High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
• Years of experience needed No experience required. Direct patient care experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
• Certifications Must maintain current CPR certification.
• Computer skills Ability to: gain training through web-based programs; participate in employee surveys; enroll in company benefits.
• Communication Must possess excellent verbal skills in communicating with patients, coworkers and visitors.
• Teamwork Must be able to actively participate in a treatment team environment.
• Service Excellence Consistently demonstrates all Service Excellence Standards.
• Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations:
• Week 1: M-F 9 AM - 5 PM
• Week 2: 3 Orientation Shifts
• Week 3: M-Th 9 AM 4 PM
