Sleep Technician

The CHA Sleep Laboratory , operating under the medical direction of the Pulmonary department, provides comprehensive Sleep Services at the Cambridge Health Alliance Somerville and Everett campuses. Our dedicated team of Sleep Technicians and Registered Respiratory Therapists provides diagnostic tests, including in-lab PSG studies, HSTs, CPAP titrations, MSLTs, scoring, and reporting services. We are committed to customer satisfaction, effective resource utilization, teamwork, and continuous quality improvement, ensuring the highest standard of Sleep Studies for our CHA patients. Position Overview The role of the Sleep Technician is to provide and oversee all aspects of care related to performing and scoring sleep studies and EEG's, under medical direction in a timely, efficient, safe, and personable manner. The PSG Technician will administer diagnostic modalities, including set up and initiation of in lab diagnostic sleep studies, CPAP Titrations, Bi-Level Titrations, MSLT studies, Home Sleep Testing. They will also provide education to patients and families regarding sleep diagnosis and treatment of related disorders, as well as sleep hygiene. Qualifications/Requirements Successful completion of an accredited Sleep Technology or Respiratory Therapy educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree. One of the following credentials is required: Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential, or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Certifications: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification Previous Experience: One year polysomnography experience with pediatric, adult and geriatric patients preferred Pay Range: $29.97 - $45.19 per hour Location : CHA Somerville Campus Work Days : 7:00pm - 7:00am Department : Respiratory Care Somerville Hospital Job Type : Part Time Work Shift : Night Hours/Week : 36 hours per week Union Name : Non Union
