Job Description Benefits Specialist - Grow Your HR Career in a High-Impact Role About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Benefits Specialist to support the administration of employee benefits programs in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you'll serve as a key point of contact for employees while ensuring benefits processes run smoothly, accurately, and in compliance with regulations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and helping employees understand and manage their benefits. Key Responsibilities
HatchELITE Krystyna recently took the exciting step of beginning her professional journey after graduating from the University of Alabama in the summer of 2025 with a degree in Chemistry. She joined Hatch as an ELITE Intern, eager to gain hands-on experience and grow within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Krystyna embraces new challenges and is motivated by the opportunity to learn, contribute, and make a meaningful impact each day. Outside of her work Krystyna enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her two one-year-old German Shepherds. She is excited about this new step in her career and brings a positive, enthusiastic attitude to everything she does.
- Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life, and disability
- Manage enrollments, qualifying life events (QLEs), and benefits updates
- Coordinate and support the annual open enrollment process
- Process benefit-related paperwork such as disability claims and other forms
- Handle monthly billing, premium payments, and reconcile discrepancies
- Prepare and maintain regular reporting, including weekly and annual census reports
- Support compliance efforts (e.g., ACA tracking, required notices, and reporting)
- Maintain organized and accurate benefits records and documentation
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding coverage, deductions, and changes
- Process incoming benefits-related communication
- Provide additional HR administrative support as needed
- Primarily desk-based role
- Requires extended computer use and data entry
- Opportunity to grow within HR and benefits administration
- Exposure to compliance, reporting, and employee support functions
- Stable schedule with consistent hours
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous administrative or HR experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working with data, systems, and documentation
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
