Overview

Our client is seeking Microsoft Solutions Architect to help accelerate several high-priority Microsoft modernization initiatives across identity, endpoint management, virtual desktop infrastructure, and platform operations. This consultant will partner closely with Corporate IT leadership to assess, design, implement, and operationalize Microsoft technologies while reducing implementation burden on a lean internal team.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience delivering Microsoft-based infrastructure projects, including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, endpoint security, and modern workplace solutions. This individual will be expected to independently drive implementation efforts, work through a sizable technology backlog, provide architecture guidance, and help maximize the value of existing Microsoft licensing investments.

This is a hands-on consulting role requiring both technical depth and a strong service-oriented mindset. The consultant will work closely with IT, Security, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to translate Microsoft best practices into scalable, operational solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of Microsoft infrastructure, identity, endpoint management, and security initiatives across a growing Microsoft environment.
• Design, deploy, and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions and support virtual desktop modernization efforts.
• Support Azure Local, Windows Server, Active Directory, and hybrid identity initiatives.
• Implement and enhance Microsoft Entra ID, Identity Governance, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and identity lifecycle automation.
• Improve endpoint management and security through Microsoft Intune, Defender, and related Microsoft security technologies.
• Support implementation of Microsoft Purview, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and information protection capabilities as needed.
• Assess current-state environments, identify implementation gaps, and execute against a prioritized backlog of Microsoft platform initiatives.
• Develop implementation roadmaps, operational standards, and supporting documentation to ensure long-term sustainability.
• Partner with IT stakeholders to provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and successful adoption of implemented solutions.
• Operate as a hands-on technical lead who can independently drive projects from design through implementation.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft infrastructure, endpoint, security, or cloud engineering experience.
• 2+ years serving as a Solutions Architect, Technical Lead, or equivalent implementation-focused role.
• Experience implementing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions.
• Experience supporting Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
• Experience implementing Microsoft security and identity solutions in enterprise environments.
• Ability to independently drive technical initiatives from planning through deployment.
• Experience working within lean, highly collaborative IT organizations.
• Strong customer-service mindset and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience using Jira or similar work management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure Local.
• Experience migrating remote desktop or virtual desktop infrastructure environments.
• Experience implementing Microsoft security capabilities including PIM, Conditional Access, DLP, Purview, and Identity Governance.
• Microsoft certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-104, SC-300, SC-100, SC-200, or AZ-500.
• Experience supporting rapidly growing organizations with evolving IT and security needs.
• Experience in consulting or professional services environments.
