Job Description

This role focuses on assembling and welding steel components using MIG welding techniques in a high-precision manufacturing environment. You will set up, lay out, and tack up precision frame weldments and brackets, working to tight tolerances while using a variety of welding tools and machines. The position requires strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality welds on both carbon and stainless steel.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and weld steel metal components using MIG welding techniques, including milled steel and stainless steel.
• Set up, lay out, and tack up various precision frame weldments and brackets according to specifications.
• Tack up and weld structures to tight and exact tolerances, ensuring dimensional accuracy.
• Perform MIG welding on both horizontal and vertical planes, including horizontal and vertical down plug welds.
• Square up and weld various shapes of components to meet design and quality requirements.
• Read and interpret complex and detailed blueprints to determine welding requirements and sequence of operations.
• Use and maintain various welding tools, machines, and equipment safely and effectively.
• Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed.
• Work collaboratively within a team environment to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience with MIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Ability to square up and weld various shapes of components accurately.
• Ability to weld on both vertical and horizontal planes, including performing horizontal and vertical down plug welds.
• Strong skills in setting up, laying out, and tacking up precision frame weldments and brackets.
• Demonstrated ability to work to tight and exact tolerances on precision frames and structures.
• Ability to read and interpret complicated blueprints and welding symbols.
• Hands-on experience using welding tools, machines, and related equipment.
• General welding experience, including familiarity with industrial or manufacturing environments.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility, where conditions vary with the seasons and bay doors may be open depending on the time of year. You will work on 2nd shift, from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with a 10% shift differential. The environment includes standard welding and fabrication equipment and requires adherence to safety protocols and appropriate industrial work attire suitable for a welding and metal fabrication setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ocala, FL.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
