Certified Medical Assistant

Overview Sentara Cardiology Specialists Williamsburg is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in Williamsburg, VA. New graduates are encouraged to apply. Work Shift First shift (Days). Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Hours may begin as early as 7:30 AM and end at 5:00 PM; scheduled shifts will fall within this range based on provider assignment. Floating when needed, mileage reimbursement offered. Responsibilities Perform patient care tasks and procedures as delegated by and under the direction of the Physician, NP/PA, RN, or LPN. Maintain a safe environment by identifying and addressing safety principles for patients, visitors, and employees. Provide administrative and clerical duties as appropriate. Conduct objective assessments, develop realistic action plans, and evaluate outcomes. Collaborate effectively with departmental staff and follow all policies, procedures, and practices. Utilize resources that are safe, effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalency. Certification: Must hold one of the following on the first day of employment: Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified EMT (EMT‑B), or BLS within 90 days of hire. Experience: Lab draw experience is highly preferred, and phlebotomy experience is preferred.
