Practice Overview Veterinary Hospital at the Lake provides full-service small animal care to Sherrills Ford, NC and the surrounding communities. We are also home to the region's only referral specialty center for small animal reproduction. Our board‑certified specialists in reproduction, called theriogenologists, partner with breeder clients and their primary care veterinarians to provide pets with expertise and compassionate care in male and female reproduction and neonatology. More about the Role Under new leadership, the practice offers a unique opportunity to provide a full complement of theriogenology services regionally, in addition to general medicine and surgery locally. The professional team consists of two boarded theriogenologists and one part‑time general associate. The hospital is open to qualified candidates with varying interests, offering services including preventative medicine, wellness care, dentistry, and surgery. The team environment is friendly, collaborative, and supportive, and the long‑standing clientele allows for quality medicine practice. Essential Responsibilities Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries. Operate diagnostic equipment, collect samples, and interpret results. Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options. Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed. Provide counsel around pet end‑of‑life care. Maintain patients' medical records. Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures. Requirements / Qualifications DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution. Appropriate state licensure. Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
