Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Occupational Therapist Discipline: Therapy Start Date: ASAP Duration: 41 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Occupational Therapist - School-Based We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to support students within a school-based setting. The Occupational Therapist will work as part of a collaborative educational team to help students develop the skills needed to participate successfully in the classroom, school routines, and daily academic activities. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and experienced in working with children who have a variety of developmental, physical, sensory, and learning needs. Responsibilities Provide occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their IEPs and educational goals. Evaluate students' fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional school-based skills. Develop treatment plans and goals that support student participation in the classroom and school environment. Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, and related service providers to support student progress. Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, re-evaluations, and progress reviews. Document therapy sessions, progress notes, evaluations, and required compliance paperwork accurately and timely. Recommend classroom accommodations, adaptive equipment, and strategies to improve student independence and access to learning. Provide consultation and training to school staff and families as appropriate. Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements. Qualifications Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of assignment. Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. NBCOT certification preferred or required based on state/district requirements. Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred. Knowledge of IEP processes, special education services, and school-based therapy models preferred. Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills. Schedule School-based schedule, Monday through Friday. Follows the school district calendar. Full-time or part-time opportunities may be available.
