Desired Experience & Qualifications:

Valid Special Education Teaching Certification, or eligibility in Connecticut
Previous experience with IEP development, implementation, and monitoring
Familiarity with a range of learning disabilities, behavioral challenges, and instructional strategies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members, students, and families
Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that values and supports all learners
Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively balance classroom demands

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles
Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents or guardians
Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
Utilize positive behavioral intervention strategies to encourage student success
