Outside Sales Representative

Role Description The Outside Sales Representative is a full-time, hybrid role based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with a combination of in-field customer visits and some work from home. This role is responsible for managing and growing a territory by visiting contractors, property managers, distributors, and other customers to promote UCI PAINTS products. Day-to-day activities include conducting sales presentations, identifying new business opportunities, following up on leads, and building long-term relationships with existing accounts. The representative will provide product recommendations, prepare quotes, negotiate pricing within company guidelines, and ensure timely order follow-through. The role also involves maintaining accurate records in a CRM system, coordinating with internal teams on inventory and deliveries, and staying informed about product specifications and industry trends.
Qualifications
- Proven ability in Sales Presentations and Communication, including explaining technical product features in a clear, customer-focused manner.
- Strong Relationship Building and Customer Service skills, with a track record of maintaining and expanding long-term client accounts.
- Experience in New Business Development, including prospecting, territory growth, and converting leads into ongoing customers.
- Previous outside sales experience, preferably in paints, coatings, building materials, or related industries.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with frequent local travel in the Fort Lauderdale area.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to visit customer sites as needed.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time and territory with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is a plus.
