RN - Registered Nurse - Surgical Intensive Care Unit - Multiple Shifts

Position Overview

• Department: Surgical Intensive Care Unit - SICU
• Schedule: Multiple Shifts:
  
  • Full-Time Nights, 3 12-Hour Shifts, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
  • Part-Time Days, 4 On/10 Off, 12-Hour Shifts, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm every other Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
• Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's East

On our 14-bed Surgical ICU (SICU) at UAB St. Vincent's East, we specialize in caring for post-operative and critically ill surgical patients. Supported by the Central Monitoring Unit, we provide continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

What You Will Do

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire.
