Certified Medication Aide

Job TitleMedication AideEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Administer routine medications to residents as ordered by physicians and delegated by a licensed nurse in compliance with Texas regulations.Accurately document medication administration in the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and Treatment Administration Record (TAR).Observe residents for adverse reactions, side effects, or changes in physical, emotional, or mental condition and immediately report concerns to the licensed nurse.Ensure medications are administered using proper procedures, including the "rights" of medication administration (right resident, medication, dose, route, time, documentation, and reason).Assist with medication pass in a timely, safe, and organized manner.Maintain cleanliness, organization, and security of medication carts, medication rooms, and supplies.Monitor medication inventory and notify nursing staff of low supplies, expired medications, or discrepancies.Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, including grooming, hygiene, toileting, mobility assistance, and meal support.Take and record vital signs as directed and report abnormalities to the licensed nurse.Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including proper hand hygiene and PPE usage.Maintain resident confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.Respond promptly to resident call lights and assist in promoting resident comfort and dignity.Communicate effectively with residents, families, nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.Follow all facility safety procedures, emergency protocols, and abuse prevention guidelines.Participate in required in-services, trainings, and staff meetings.Perform other duties as assigned by nursing leadership.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
