Engineering Technician

The Engineering Technician is responsible for testing wiring devices and components to ensure they meet the specified quality and performance standards of the Engineering Department and/or certification agencies.

A Day In The LifeEvery day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by:
- Setting up routine electrical and mechanical test equipment for the testing of wiringdevices and/or components.
- Building test fixtures and test equipment as requested by supervisor.
- Performing standards and special tests on wiring devices and/or components thereof.
- Recording the results and writing lab reports on the tests that were performed.
- Assisting certification agency representatives in the inspection and testing of wiring devices and their associated products.
- Assisting supervisor in maintenance of, repair of, calibration of the construction of test lab equipment.
- Performing related duties as requested by Supervisor, Engineering Test Lab.
- High school graduate with two or more years of technical education or equivalent (required)
- Ability to read basic measuring instruments, simple blueprints, and simple schematics (required)
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Ability to read, write and understand basic technical English.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Proven time management skills and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks effectively.
- Exceptional judgment and common sense.
- Results-oriented with a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Process improvement skills preferred.
