Gastroenterology Physician Job Requirements

• Physician with an MD or equivalent medical degree
• At least 1 year of gastroenterology experience
• Board certification in Gastroenterology
• Active Indiana medical license
• Active Indiana CSR and DEA registration
• Required training and proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP
• Current BLS certification
• Current ABLS certification
• Ability to provide inpatient consultations, evaluate transfers, and participate in 24-hour call coverage

Gastroenterology Physician Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive gastroenterology care for inpatients and patients requiring consultation.
• Respond to transfers and evaluate urgent gastroenterology cases.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP procedures.
• Provide 24-hour call coverage for seven consecutive days.
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and the gastroenterology team.
• Document evaluations, procedures, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations accurately.
• Apply appropriate endoscopic expertise across procedures such as upper and lower endoscopy, colonoscopy, biopsy, polypectomy, and related gastrointestinal interventions as clinically indicated.
