Atlantic Group is hiring a Grant Accountant in New York, NY for our client, supporting grant accounting, government-funded programs, and nonprofit financial operations. This role partners with program teams to manage grant funding, prepare financial reporting, oversee invoicing, and ensure compliance with government funding requirements. The ideal candidate has experience working within a nonprofit or social services organization and is knowledgeable in grant accounting and budget management.


Responsibilities as the Grant Accountant:

• Grant Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of grant-funded programs while monitoring budgets, expenditures, and financial activity.
• Budget Administration: Partner with program teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning while ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
• Grant Administration: Prepare and submit grant invoices, monitor funding activity, and support the financial administration of grant programs.
• Funding Compliance: Maintain compliance with grant agreements, funding requirements, and financial reporting standards.
• Financial Analysis: Reconcile financial data, monitor grant performance, and prepare reports to support informed decision-making.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to support grant administration and financial reporting.

Qualifications for the Grant Accountant:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience in grant accounting, grant administration, nonprofit accounting, or a related accounting or finance role is required.
• Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of grant funding, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or financial management systems is required.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate across teams, and meet deadlines are required.
