About the Opportunity

Caliber Paving is seeking an experienced Trusted Advisor – Asphalt Paving Estimator to support its growing Phoenix operations.

This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in asphalt paving and pavement maintenance who enjoys working directly with customers and can independently evaluate job sites, develop complete scopes of work, and prepare accurate estimates.

This is primarily an estimating and customer relationship role, not a traditional outside sales position.

Caliber already has established commercial customers and project opportunities in Arizona. The focus is on servicing those relationships, understanding customer needs, and delivering accurate, competitive, and profitable project proposals.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who understands asphalt paving and maintenance operations and can manage the estimating process from start to finish without constant oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site evaluations of commercial asphalt paving, pavement repair, and maintenance projects.
• Assess pavement conditions and identify appropriate repair or maintenance solutions.
• Develop complete scopes of work for asphalt paving, patching, milling, grading, and related services.
• Prepare accurate and detailed project estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Develop professional proposals that clearly communicate recommended work, pricing, and project expectations.
• Work directly with commercial property managers, facility managers, and other business customers.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with Caliber's existing customer base.
• Recommend practical solutions that balance cost, quality, and long-term pavement performance.
• Consider the needs of property owners, tenants, and property managers when evaluating and planning projects.
• Coordinate with internal production teams and subcontractors to confirm project requirements and execution plans.
• Ensure accurate project information is communicated to production teams.
• Manage multiple estimates, customer requests, and project opportunities simultaneously.
• Utilize estimating software and other technology to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Follow up on proposals and maintain consistent communication with customers.

Required Qualifications

• Strong, proven experience in asphalt paving, pavement repair, and maintenance is required.
• Demonstrated ability to independently walk job sites, assess pavement conditions, develop complete scopes of work, and prepare accurate estimates.
• Thorough understanding of asphalt paving methods, pavement maintenance procedures, materials, equipment, and project costs.
• Experience estimating commercial asphalt paving, repair, and maintenance projects.
• Ability to accurately calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce complete, profitable estimates.
• Comfortable communicating directly with customers and explaining recommended pavement repair and maintenance solutions.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Comfortable using estimating software, technology, and other business management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with commercial property managers, facility managers, HOAs, or other B2B customers.
• Familiarity with estimating software such as OneCrew.
• Experience estimating asphalt repair and maintenance work at occupied commercial properties.
• Experience coordinating with production crews and subcontractors.

An existing book of business is not required. This position is focused on servicing established customers, estimating projects, and delivering a high-quality customer experience.

Candidates must have substantial, direct experience in asphalt paving and maintenance. General construction, heavy civil, concrete, sealcoating-only, or striping-only experience does not meet this requirement.
