Job Title: Production Associate Job Description

The Production Associate works on an assembly line to manufacture garage doors, completing production orders accurately, safely, and in a timely manner. In this role, you develop strong product knowledge, cross-train in other entry-level positions, and contribute to efficient production and inventory processes.

• Work on an assembly line to produce garage doors according to production orders and quality standards.
• Complete all assigned production tasks accurately, safely, and within required timeframes.
• Operate hand and power tools with strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Learn product specifications and manufacturing processes to build solid product knowledge.
• Cross-train in other entry-level production roles to support different areas of the operation as needed.
• Stand and walk throughout the shift, including periodic walking distances of approximately 5–15 feet depending on assigned position.
• Perform frequent stooping, bending, walking, carrying, and lifting, including stacking banded door panels to various levels.
• Individually lift and carry items up to 45 pounds and safely work with a team member to lift or carry door panels exceeding 45 pounds.
• Push and steer loaded carts, often requiring a force of up to 50 pounds, and coordinate with another team member when forces above 50 pounds are required.
• Follow proper safety techniques and practices when lifting, pushing, pulling, and operating equipment.
• Perform reporting and basic clerical duties using a computer and/or tablet, including data entry and schedule-related tasks.
• Support production planning and scheduling activities as directed, ensuring materials and inventory are organized for upcoming work.
• Assist with inventory management tasks, such as tracking materials and finished products.
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with team members and supervisors.
• Apply efficient organizational, time management, and analytical skills to prioritize tasks and maintain productivity.
• Demonstrate mechanical competence when working with tools, equipment, and production machinery.
• Follow manufacturing and inventory management procedures and adhere to safety-conscious practices at all times.
• Obtain forklift license and certification within 45 days of hire and operate forklifts in accordance with safety and operational guidelines once certified.

• Ability to operate hand and power tools with strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Capability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the entire shift.
• Ability to frequently stoop, bend, walk, carry, and lift items up to 45 pounds, and safely team-lift items over 45 pounds.
• Capacity to push and steer loaded carts, often requiring a force of up to 50 pounds, with team assistance when forces exceed 50 pounds.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Efficient and productive organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
• Mechanical competence and the ability to apply safety-conscious practices when working with tools and equipment.
• Knowledge and experience in manufacturing and inventory management.
• Ability to perform reporting and clerical duties using a computer and/or tablet.
• Willingness and ability to obtain a forklift license and certification within 45 days of hire.

• Experience in production, labor, or general manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with production planning, production scheduling, or production coordination activities.
• Basic skills in inventory tracking and inventory management.
• Comfort with data entry and schedule planning using digital tools.
• Ability to learn new processes quickly and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Mechanically inclined mindset with interest in operating and maintaining production tools and equipment.

This role is based in a manufacturing facility focused on garage door production. You work primarily on an assembly line and spend extended time on your feet, with regular standing and walking throughout the shift. The work involves frequent stooping, bending, carrying, and lifting of materials and door panels, as well as pushing and steering loaded carts. You regularly use hand and power tools, and you perform basic reporting and data entry on a computer or tablet. Once certified, you may operate forklifts as part of production and inventory activities. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, with established procedures and training to ensure safe handling of materials and equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawrence, KS.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
