Radiology Technologist

Job Description Operates X‑ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body portions, performs quality control checks, and maintains required documentation. Job Responsibilities Translates examination results into layman terms to alleviate patient anxiety. Performs various X‑ray examinations per standards and division procedures. Positions patients, ensures compliance with departmental SOPs. Recognizes and promptly reports patient abnormalities (e.g., fainting, discoloration, contrast reactions) to the Radiologist. Operates equipment to transfer computed images to film and archives disc memory to tape. Utilizes film markers and ensures images are properly marked as “right” or “left” side. Ensures images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient ID. Keys in patient history data and other pertinent information from requisitions. Arranges, attaches, or adjusts immobilization and supportive devices. Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted are essential functions under ADA; duties not mentioned but related are not essential. Job Qualifications Vocational or Technical school diploma required. Current license to practice as a Radiology Technologist in New York State required. Current ARRT Radiology registration required. 1–3 years of technical experience required. Shift Details Per Diem for multiple locations in Suffolk County. Weekdays with 8‑hour shifts between 7:30 am–5:30 pm.
