As an Eye Care Patient Care Representative, you will serve as the initial contact for Capital Health Plan members seeking medical care. Throughout the day, you will check members in for appointments, verify membership and coverage, obtain required visit documentation, and provide information regarding health services recommended by practitioners. You will answer incoming phone calls, route calls appropriately, schedule appointments, and document patient interactions within the Electronic Health Record (EHR). You will manage multiple appointment schedules while accurately recording confirmations, cancellations, and no-shows. Following patient visits, you will check patients out, print encounter documents, and arrange follow-up care as directed. You will collect and record patient cost shares, prepare and reconcile monies and financial forms, and review visit charges while bringing unresolved alerts or concerns to the attention of the practitioner or supervisor. You will also perform clerical duties such as sending faxes, making copies, filing documents, and maintaining a safe, organized, and professional waiting area and work environment.
