Your Experience Matters More About Our Team This is a chance to be a vital member of an interdisciplinary team caring for people in the Arlington area who need continued care to recover completely. You have specialized skills and our patients in Tarrant County need them! How You'll Contribute A Certified Respiratory Therapist who excels in this role: Maintains up-to-date knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment; monitors for and addresses potential side effects. Administers ordered respiratory therapy treatments; understands indications, dosing parameters, and possible adverse effects. Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators; performs associated critical-care duties such as airway management and tracheal suctioning. Assesses pain that interferes with function or rehabilitation participation and notifies the physician for appropriate intervention. Performs arterial punctures to obtain ABG samples; recognizes potential complications and contraindications. Performs EKGs, documents/reports results per department procedure, routes to requesting providers, and files reports appropriately. Collaborates with physicians, nursing and rehabilitation staff to coordinate care and optimize outcomes. Ensures accurate, timely documentation in the medical record and adheres to infection prevention and safety practices. Maintains equipment readiness; follows department policies, competency requirements, and quality improvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Additional requirements include: Current state Respiratory Therapist license Current CPR certification (BLS required; ACLS per unit requirements or preferred) Three (3)+ years of cardiopulmonary/respiratory care experience highly preferred.
