Physical Therapist - Inpatient Rehab

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Inpatient Rehab is seeking a Physical Therapist for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $48.52 $72.78. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 hour shifts with a Saturday rotations and holiday rotations

Job Summary

Responsible for the evaluation of patients, determining plan-of-care and goals of treatment, participating in treatment of patients within the scope of Physical Therapy. May provide oversight to therapy assistants and/or students in following the plan-of-care and treatment of patients appropriate to the age of the patient served; may provide supervision to therapy aides and/or volunteers. Works as part of a patient care team toward the best outcomes for the patient.

What you will do:

• Evaluates assigned patients and establishes a treatment plan and goals, using data from a variety of sources, such as patient records, interviews, observation, and team members.
• Provides patient treatment according to plan of care and modifies plan to meet patient needs, and updates plan as appropriate.
• Completes documentation accurately, timely, according to regulatory and state licensure requirements, and within professional standards.
• Collaborates with other healthcare professionals as necessary to ensure smooth continuous care of the patients. May act as a liaison with nursing, medical and other therapy staffs to facilitate problem solving and coordination of other services and act as an educational resource.
• May mentor and provide oversight to new caregivers, physical therapist assistants, and/or therapy aides. Provides clinical instruction and training to students.
• Recommends and participates in development of new services and programs, quality improvement and monitoring activities.
• May participate in staff meetings, patient care meetings, educational in-services, caregiver orientation and other professional activities.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree Required: Physical Therapy or

• Master's Degree Required: Physical Therapy or

• Doctorate Degree Required: Physical Therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education or closely related field (foreign equivalent accepted)

Credentials

• Required: Physical Therapist - Washington and

• Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support

Skills

• General knowledge of field and ability to utilize library resource appropriately (Required)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Required)

• Strong organizational and analytical skills (Required)

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and display flexibility in a fast paced and changing work environment (Required)

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center:

• May be required to cover as an Admission Coordinator/Rehab PPS Coordinator

Working Conditions

Lifting

• Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).

• Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.

• Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.

• Lifting (non-patient)/carrying occasionally up to 25 lbs.

• Push/Pull: 1-25 lbs. of force occasionally (i.e., moving equipment).

• Stooping/ bending/ squatting/ kneeling occasionally.

• Rehabilitation staff working with patients with rehabilitation goals involving bed mobility, transfers and gait may use other appropriate and approved safe techniques and equipment in the course of the rehabilitation process if determined clinically appropriate.

Environmental Conditions

• Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.

• Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.

Mental/Visual

• Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).

• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
