Job Title Summer Nurse (LPN/RN) Location Worcester Job Overview Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) offers a wide range of summer programs focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for students in grades 6-12. Our summer academic programs bring nearly 1,000 students to campus with day and residential options. The Office of Pre‑collegiate Outreach Programs is seeking nurses to deliver health care for these programs. Responsibilities Nursing care Medication administration Health teaching Triage Data collection and verification of health forms Work autonomously, staffing the Summer Nurse Office and providing care as needed Work afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts, including overnight on‑call shifts with a private sleeping area Weekend availability as required Weekly hours flexible, typically between 16–40 Qualifications Excellent nursing and interpersonal skills Good judgment and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Commitment to professional standards and continued professional development Knowledgeable of WPI policies and procedures and ability to follow them when providing patient care Accountability for quality of own nursing practice Positive attitude, sense of humor, and interest in working with neurodivergent participants from diverse backgrounds Compensation RN pay rate $40/hr ; LPN pay rate $30/hr. Work Hours Hours include afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts with overnight on‑call property shifts. Weekend availability is required. Hours are flexible, typically between 16–40 weeks.
