Project Management Intern

Project Management Intern (Summer 2027)Project Management Intern plays an important role in supporting the planning and execution of projects throughout all phases to ensure quality, schedule, cost control, safety, and customer satisfaction objectives are met or exceeded. Students will work alongside Project Managers to gain exposure in both office and field work environments. Field work will be conducted under the supervision of qualified personnel.Internships at O'Connell Electric offer students' great opportunities to incorporate classroom learning into professional, real-world situations. Typical activities throughout an internship include, but are not limited to:Preparing drawings and sketches, and other project documentsAssist in preparing project status reports and attending meetingsInterface with various team members to support administrative and project-specific tasksVisit job sites to engage with foremen and electricians to learn about field operationsEngage with safety professionals to understand how safety policies and procedures affect projectsEngage with estimating team members to understand how projects are estimated bid to customersTake on additional tasks assigned by supervisor to support operations and administrative support teams.Education Requirements and Key Competencies for Success:Current students are at least at their junior level of studies and are actively enrolled in a construction management or related undergraduate programShould have completed some relevant coursework that can be applied to experiential learning during an internshipStrong writing, analytical and communication skillsDetail-oriented with a strong emphasis on quality work deliverablesStrong work ethic and a high level of integrityCompensation:The minimum and maximum annual salary (or hourly rates) that O'Connell Electric Company, Inc. believes in good faith to be accurate for this position at the time of this posting are $17.00 to $20.00 per hour.It is important to O'Connell Electric that potential candidates for this position understand that compensation depends on numerous factors including the geographic location where the role will be performed, skills required, experience, complexity, travel, and market rate.
