Machine Operator II Blow Mold

Job Summary Blow Mold Operator (Coworker) – Efficiently, effectively, and safely operate the blow mold machines and other support equipment. Ensure high quality finished products are produced and meet production volumes in a fast-paced environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow production schedules and communicate changes to team members. Start-up and shut down of blow mold machine and supporting equipment. Operate, enter, and maintain production process during production. Visually identify bottle quality defects and correct production processes to meet quality specifications. Perform troubleshooting. Monitor production flow and preform level in hoppers; load and dump as needed to keep production running. Perform quality control testing using appropriate measuring devices. Communicate machinery/equipment issues to Maintenance Technician and the team promptly. Assist Maintenance with machine/equipment repairs, mold changeovers, and preventive maintenance work. Clean and/or sanitize blow molder during changeovers – inside, outside, and under. Follow end-of-run procedures – complete profile sheet, empty/clean hoppers, and remove all previous run performs and bottles from blow molders through s-elevators. Follow and maintain company GMP / HACCP / Product Safety standards and complete housekeeping requirements in work areas. Complete required documentation accurately and timely. Use company computer system for preform consumption, quality test entries, and scrap processing securely. Covers vacations and other absences according to Kenosha local attendance policy. Operate forklift safely and efficiently. Accept and perform other duties or changes to the position as plant and production needs require. Stay safety conscious and adhere to all safety rules and aspects of machine operation – including PPE, lock out/tag out, machine guarding, and required safety equipment. Safety Responsibilities Perform duties safely and avoid hazards to yourself and coworkers. Help management create a safe working environment by communicating safety concerns and suggesting improvements. Report all accidents, incidents, near misses, and injuries immediately to the Team Lead or Management. Follow company medical and first aid procedures. Use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly. Adhere to Amcor Kenosha’s safety policies and procedures. Set a good example for other employees. Assist management in improving the health and safety program proactively. Employees have the right to refuse unsafe work. Job Specifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; some college, technical or vocational education preferred. Previous manufacturing work experience preferred. Good written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to recognize numbers and values, including data entry into database. Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated schedule flexibility for coverage of vacations and other absences. Good computer skills and ability to learn Amcor systems – SAP experience helpful. Strong attention to detail and ability to visually recognize product and quality defects. Physical Requirements Normal vision, hearing, and ability to squat, talk, reach, grasp, pinch, hand/finger dexterity, walk, stand, stoop, push/pull, bend, kneel, climb, twist, and carry 50+ lbs. Lifting 50+ lbs. and carrying 50+ lbs. (up to 75 lbs. occasionally). Stand and walk up to 12 hours on concrete or other hard surfaces. Other Physical Requirements Lift/carry up to 75 lbs. Bend and twist repetitively during shift. Bend under 4-foot bottle conveyor. Frequent dexterity in fingers and hands to operate hand tools. Proficient hand/eye coordination to operate equipment and controls. Environmental Factors Continuous noise ranges from 80 to 100 dB. Occasional exposure to chemicals.
