Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Day, Evening Days/Evenings and every other weekend Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years of ER experience License: Illinois RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNS or TNCC, NIHSS Must-Have: Flexibility to rotate start times, moderate sedation experience Description: Provide emergency care to the community. Manage both trauma and non-trauma cases. Handle various patient conditions from respiratory viruses to major incidents. Experience with neonates to geriatrics is required. Must have the ability to maintain care for patients during varying weather conditions. The department treats an average of 60-80 patients every 24 hours. Nurse to patient ratios are adjusted based on staffing and acuity. Staffing includes a dedicated charge nurse and a house supervisor available 24/7. Care support is provided by ED techs who assist with vital signs, room maintenance, and other duties. Respiratory therapy support is available 24 hours a day. All necessary imaging is connected directly to the department for patient transport. Blood draws are performed by techs and nurses. Shifts consist of various start times; flexibility is essential. Weekend work is required every other week to meet unit needs. Holiday rotation is required with options to accommodate multiple holidays. Floating to other units may be necessary based on experience and staffing needs. Professional scrubs are required in solid colors. Orientation includes departmental-specific training.
