Forklift MechanicPay: $28-32/hr.Shift: DayDescription:The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the company fleet of forklifts. This position requires someone with strong organizational and time management skills, deadline and detail oriented. A successful candidate must have extensive experience as a forklift mechanic with strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Qualifications:High School degree required, completion of forklift mechanic's training course requiredMinimum of 3 years of related experience as a forklift mechanicState inspection license preferredMust have your own toolsStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsBasic computer skills necessaryDeadline and detail-orientedJob Duties:Inspects forklift fleet to ensure forklifts are working properly and safely, schedules and performs routine maintenance for forkliftsRepairs and maintains various types of forklifts, mostly gas-poweredIdentifies any forklifts that need repairs and removes unsafe equipment from facility operating area and notifies supervisorEnsures batteries for electric forklifts are fully charged and replaces empty propane tanks on propane-powered forkliftsMaintains repair log for forklift fleetKeeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedulesCorrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systemsVerifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systemsMaintains vehicle records for services and repairsMaintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with ISI / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety proceduresBenefits:Health / Dental / VisionCompany-Matched Retirement PlanPaid HolidaysPaid Time Off (PTO)
