Join our dedicated dietary team supporting residents in an assisted living and memory care setting. We are seeking an experienced Dietary Cook who can prepare nutritious, appealing meals while accommodating special dietary needs, including puréed and modified texture diets. Your attention to detail, food safety knowledge, and compassionate approach will directly support residents' health, comfort, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve two to three meals per day for large groups.
• Follow facility menus, meal plans, and recipes while accommodating special dietary needs.
• Prepare puréed and modified texture diets as required.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and dining environment.
• Receive, inspect, and stock food and supply deliveries, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
• Accurately document menu changes and substitutions.
• Communicate directly with the Food Director regarding:
• Inventory levels
• Equipment maintenance needs
• Daily kitchen operations
• Deliver meals in a timely manner while considering resident preferences and dietary needs.
• Follow all Washington State food safety standards, regulations, and WAC requirements.
  

Qualifications

• Experience cooking for large groups.
• Experience preparing special diets, modified texture foods, or therapeutic diets preferred.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Effective time management skills.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and instructions.
• Positive, professional, and patient demeanor.
  

Requirements

• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Ability to pass a Washington State background check.
• Valid Washington State Food Worker Card.
  

Preferred Certifications

• CPR / First Aid
• Bloodborne Pathogens
  

Available Shifts:

Shift 1. Monday - Thursday 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Shift 2. Saturday - Sunday 7:30AM - 5:30PM

Experience

• Commercial kitchen cooking: 2 years required
• Preparing special diets, modified texture foods, or therapeutic diets: 1 year preferred
