It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. Description of Work This position is located at the Eastern Region Office in Greenville, Pitt County, NC.

Position Summary: This role provides security support to the Region Operations Manager and is responsible for operational duties within an assigned geographic area. The position includes frequent interaction with all facilities throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities: • Serve as the region’s tactical officer and PREA Compliance Manager. • Accompany external agency inspectors, coordinate follow-up actions, and ensure completion of any required corrective measures. • Review and respond to correspondence and inquiries from offenders and offender family members. • Review all death incident reports and PREA incident documentation for accuracy and compliance. • Serve as the Region Safety Compliance Officer. • Conduct investigations as assigned by the Region Director. • Supervise inmate workers assigned to the Region Office.

About The Division of Institutions: The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.

Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution
