CHIEF Innovation Officer

the client seeks an inaugural Chief Transformation Officer to serve as a strategic and operational leader for enterprise transformation, operational excellence, and administrative modernization. Reporting to the president, the role will advance institutional strategic priorities through leadership of functional line operations and cross-functional initiatives that strengthen institutional effectiveness, improve service delivery, and support transformational investment, including efforts to develop new resources and achieve revenue and savings goals. As part of a complex, multi-campus public research enterprise with large-scale research and service operations, the Chief Transformation Officer will help set and execute a roadmap for implementing an institutional strategic plan. The position is expected to prioritize holistic student success and access while expanding research impact, and to work through influence by empowering unit-level leaders to reinforce a culture of excellence and to support stability, transparency, and sustainable strategic growth. The leader will also enhance communication and collaboration across the organization, identifying operational and infrastructure gaps and opportunities to improve efficiency and value for students. The Chief Transformation Officer will partner with senior leadership, including newly appointed academic and financial executives, to support budget and resource transformation initiatives by examining institutional finances, identifying opportunities to strengthen revenues and cost structures, and improving the distribution and allocation of shared resources across campuses. The successful candidate will be an effective relationship builder who can reduce redundancy, eliminate silos, and cultivate continuous improvement through centralized operating structures, while designing incentive structures that reward impact across faculty and staff.
