Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
This is a contract Registered Nurse position specializing in Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Oncology. The role involves administering complex chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments in a fast-paced hospital setting for a 13-week assignment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and blood products following established protocols.
• Monitor and assess patient responses to treatments, documenting findings accurately.
• Follow strict safety procedures for handling hazardous drugs, including preparation and disposal.
• Collaborate with pharmacy and healthcare teams to ensure clinical effectiveness and patient safety.
• Adhere to unit policies, including dress code, infection control measures, and patient care standards.
• Maintain competency by completing required certifications, including ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.

Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse license with current state certification.
• Minimum of 1 year oncology experience required.
• Certified in ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy with 15.25 contact hours.
• Demonstrated proficiency in chemotherapy administration and handling hazardous drugs.
• BMT or CAR-T experience preferred.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to rotating schedules.
