Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - Respiratory Therapist

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB and no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers allowed with at least 2 years experience and Cerner or Epic EMR experience. Two years in a level 3 NICU. Adult general and critical care. NICU ground transports and nitric oxide administration. Must be able to work independently in a level 3 NICU – could be the only NICU RRT on nights.

Preferred Skills/Experience: NICU transport experience preferred.

Required Credentials: CRT will be considered with at least 2 years of experience.

Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility. Up to 7 days off may be approved, excluding blackout dates: Martin Luther King Jr. Day: 1/15; Valentine’s Day week: 2/10 – 2/17; Spring Break week; Easter Weekend: 3/30 – 3/31; Mother’s Day Weekend; Memorial Day week: 5/24 – 5/27; Father’s Day Weekend; Labor Day Weekend 9/2-9/4; Halloween: 10/30 – 10/31; Thanksgiving: 11/22 – 11/25; Christmas and New Year’s: 12/23-12/26; 12/31 – 1/1.

Unit Details: Uses Omnicell, Spacelabs, PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, Airvo, and Oscillator (3100A).

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Voluntary call. One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy.

Floating Requirements: Any like unit/patient location. NICU therapists will also work with adults.

7 days maximum time off.
