This role partners cross-functionally to translate commercial activity into reliable financial outcomes while leading and developing a high-performing revenue accounting team.Your Role:Revenue Recognition & Compliance:Oversee revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, including review of customer contracts, amendments, and complex arrangements; ensure appropriate accounting treatment and documentation.Month-End Close & Reporting:Manage revenue-related close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of management and external reporting.Forecasting, Budgeting & KPI Management:Partner with FP&A and business leaders to support revenue forecasting, budgeting, and tracking of specialty-level KPIs such as ARR, churn, and net revenue retention.Cross-Functional Partnership & Deal SupportCollaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, and Deal Desk on deal structuring, pricing changes, and contract reviews to ensure revenue accuracy and compliance.Team Leadership & Development Lead:Mentor, and review the work of revenue accountants and analysts; set priorities, provide feedback, and support career development.Audit, Controls & Risk Management:Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors on revenue matters; maintain and enhance internal controls and SOX compliance where applicable.Process Improvement & Strategic Projects:Identify and implement improvements to systems, processes, and reporting; support M&A, system implementations, and other strategic initiatives.Skills & Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related fieldMinimum: 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience with revenue exposureDeep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, specifically ASC 606Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced Excel and financial modeling skillsExperience with NetSuite and BI/forecasting tools (preferred)Proven leadership and cross-functional influencePreferred: 3–5+ years in SaaS or technology companies; prior audit experienceCPA and Public Accounting experience, preferredModMed Benefits Highlight: At ModMed, we believe it’s important to offer a competitive benefits package designed to meet the diverse needs of our growing workforce.
