Job Description: Nurse Practitioner – Neuro Interventional Radiology Location: Inland Empire, Comprehensive Stroke Center Position: Full-Time, 24-Hour Shift Position or 12-Hour Shift Position Department: Neuro Interventional Radiology Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated, highly skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic and fast‑paced Neuro Interventional Radiology (NIR) team at our Comprehensive Stroke Center. Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Assessment Conduct comprehensive physical exams, assess patients with acute neurological conditions, and obtain detailed health histories. Perform detailed neurological assessments for patients undergoing neuro‑interventional procedures, including stroke, aneurysm, and arteriovenous malformation (AVM) interventions. Manage the pre‑procedure, intra‑procedure, and post‑procedure care of patients, ensuring timely assessments and interventions. Initiate and interpret diagnostic testing and imaging, including CT scans, MRIs, and angiograms. Procedure Support & Collaboration Assist with neuro‑interventional radiology procedures, including catheter‑based treatments for stroke, thrombectomy, and endovascular interventions. Provide direct support to physicians during interventional procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Monitor patients in the post‑procedure recovery phase, observing for any complications or adverse reactions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (neurologists, radiologists, vascular surgeons, and ICU staff) to provide coordinated, comprehensive care. Patient Education & Family Support Educate patients and their families about conditions related to neurovascular diseases, stroke prevention, and the interventional procedures involved in their treatment. Offer support and counseling to patients and families during difficult or emotionally charged situations. Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient encounters, procedures, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and state/federal laws related to patient care and confidentiality. Quality Improvement & Continuing Education Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes in neuro‑interventional radiology. Stay up‑to‑date with the latest advancements in neurovascular care and interventional radiology practices through ongoing education and professional development. Qualifications Education Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program. Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) AANP or ACNP. Certification in Neurocritical Care (preferred) or Neuro Interventional Radiology (or willingness to obtain). Experience Minimum 3‑5 years experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting (ICU preferred, ER acceptable). Minimum 1+ year of advanced practice nursing experience, preferably in Neurocritical Care, Neuro Interventional Radiology, or similar acute care settings. Experience with stroke management, neurovascular interventions, or critical care nursing is highly desirable. Licensure & Certifications Active Nurse Practitioner License in California. Board certification either AANP or ACNP. BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification required. NIHSS certification required. Skills & Attributes Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a collaborative team setting. Ability to manage complex cases and make critical decisions in acute care situations. Detail‑oriented and committed to providing high‑quality patient care. Adaptability and resilience in a fast‑moving, high‑volume clinical setting. Work Schedule Full‑time, 168 hours/month with 24‑hour shifts or 12‑hour shifts (includes weekend and holiday coverage).
