Our client is a privately-owned general contractor with 50+ years in business and roughly $200M in annual revenue. They have a strong backlog, a long-tenured team and a culture built on training and supporting their people. They’re growing steadily and investing in the right leaders to scale even further.
The role
We’re recruiting a Senior Controller to join the leadership team, reporting to senior leadership. You’ll lead the accounting function and partner closely with project and operations teams, with scope to grow into broader finance leadership over time.
Key responsibilities
- Lead accounting operations, including month-end close, financial reporting and WIP
- Oversee accounting controls and financial processes, and continue to strengthen them as the business grows
- Carry out project-level financial reviews and provide financial guidance to operations and project teams
- Manage and develop the accounting team
- Work with senior leadership on financial planning and decision making
What we’re looking for
- Significant construction finance experience, ideally in a general contractor, specialty subcontractor or construction-focused accounting firm of similar scale
- CPA highly preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered
- A stable, hands-on leader with a record of ownership
- Confidence to challenge existing practices constructively and work well with strong, driven colleagues
- Strong knowledge of job cost accounting and construction financial reporting
