Description
American Traveler is seeking a certified CVOR Surgical Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a community hospital assignment requiring on-call availability.
Details
- Community hospital setting within the CVOR, General OR, and Hybrid OR
- Performs vascular, cardiovascular, and thoracic procedures including CABG, AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, TEVAR, VATS, and mediastinoscopy
- Assists with organ donation and transplant procedures
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (6:00 AM-2:30 PM)
- Firm on-call requirements as part of the schedule
- Minimum assignment length of 13 weeks
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist required
- Community hospital experience required
- BLS certification required
- NBSTSA and/or NCCT certification required
- License required if applicable
- Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE, laser safety, specimen handling and labeling, and universal protocol time out procedures
- Experience with vascular and cardiovascular procedures such as AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, CABG, and mitral valve replacement preferred
Additional Information
- Support surgical teams during complex vascular, cardiovascular, and thoracic procedures
- Ensure proper instrument handling, specimen labeling, and adherence to safety protocols during surgeries
- Maintain sterile technique and assist with patient positioning and draping
- Participate in time-out and universal protocol procedures prior to surgery
- Expect to work some holidays and submit RTO requests at time of consideration
- On-site drug screening required upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for positive results
- Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this position
- First-time travelers may be considered
