Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,247 per week

Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 07/13/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel First Time Travelers Accepted Travelers hired for a 13‑week assignment may have an open slot in the schedule. After completion of the assignment, the unit or a partner institution will fill the slot. If a unit can’t fill the slot, the recruiter will notify the traveler of the reassignment. Call‑Ins If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to:

1. make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE, or
2. if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract, or
3. if a 1.2 FTE, any call‑in shifts will be added to the end of the contract.

Weekends Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need. Charge Coverage Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources. Certification Requirements ACLS and BCLS. Skillset Requirements Minimum 2 years experience Proficient in cardiac monitoring – on‑unit monitoring Management of chest tubes Fresh tracheostomies Feeding tube care and management Care of postoperative patients Epidurals Management of non‑titratable cardiac drips IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips External BiPAP/CPAP Total laryngectomy Doppler flap checks Floating Requirements Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med‑Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals.

REFUSAL TO FLOAT MAY END IN TERMINATION OF CONTRACT

Unit Information Surgical PCU – almost ICU level acuity – ENT (neck dissections, mandibulectomy), thoracic (esophagectomy, lobectomy, pneumonectomy), general surgery (pancreatic, bowel/liver resections), urology (urinary diversions, cystectomies, RPLND), and medical overflow.
