Residential Electrical Helper - Multi-Family

General Job Description


We are actively hiring experienced Multi-Family Electrical Helpers for our team in the Washington DC / Maryland area and are looking for dependable individuals who are ready to start quickly.

This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on field experience, and grow your career in the electrical industry. You'll work alongside experienced electricians while helping complete residential electrical installations and supporting the field crew.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

As an Electrical Helper, you will:

• Assist in rough-in work, including measuring, cutting, and pulling wire
• Install trim components such as plugs, lights, fixtures, and switches
• Carry materials and tools to support the leadman and crew
• Clean and maintain the work area and equipment
• Maintain a professional working relationship with the leadman and team members
• Communicate progress, issues, and solutions to management when needed
• Follow company safety policies and promptly report hazards
• Take direction effectively and contribute to a productive team environment
• Other duties as assigned

Specific Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Electrical experience and knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical layouts
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Physical Requirements

This role is physically active and requires the ability to:

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and climb throughout the workday
• Lift, carry, and move materials and tools up to 50 pounds
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• Work at heights using ladders and lifts on multi-story residential construction sites
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing job duties
• Maintain consistent attendance and stamina for full work shifts

Work Environment

• Work is performed on active multi-family residential construction sites
• Exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions, including heat, humidity, dust, and noise
• Job sites may involve unfinished structures, ladders, and uneven terrain
• Safety procedures and PPE are required at all times

Compensation : Starting at $18.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
