About the Role

We're looking for a highly creative and strategic Social Content Strategist to lead and elevate IPSY's presence across key organic social channels including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms. This role blends beauty content creation, channel strategy, and trendspotting. You'll concept, create, and direct social-first content that delivers our organic goals, acting as a channel owner and cross-functional partner while shaping how IPSY shows up across social.

This position reports to the Director of Social Media and MUST BE based in the Los Angeles, CA area. (This is a hybrid role, blending onsite and remote work.)

What You'll Be Doing

Content Creation & Storytelling:

• Concept, capture, and edit social-first content including short-form original videos, trending formats, campaign storytelling, BTS, in-office footage, reactive content, and event coverage - to be used across all of IPSY social channels.
• Serve as in-house beauty content creator when needed, producing compelling, trend-forward content that authentically connects with IPSY's beauty audience.
• Translate creative ideas into scroll-stopping content tailored to each platform.
• Develop and manage creative briefs for campaign-specific social assets used across IPSY channels.

Channel Strategy & Management:

• Own and manage IPSY's Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube shorts strategy to drive brand awareness, engagement, and traffic.
• Act as a channel expert and develop platform-optimized content through original content creation, UGC briefs, and dedicated social shoots.
• Maintain a sharp pulse on the evolving social and beauty landscape, identifying high-impact trends and testing opportunities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Creator Partnerships, Brand Ops, Creative, Production, Brand Partnerships, Growth and Events to ensure alignment on objectives.
• Manage the social content calendar; publish and maintain daily content with strong attention to brand voice and accuracy.

Beauty Trends & Internet Culture:

• Identify pop culture moments and trends that resonate with our community and brand.
• Leverage beauty trends and popular formats to identify reactive content opportunities.
• Support campaign launches, creator partnerships, and live event coverage with relevant, engaging content.

Analytics & Insights:

• Track, analyze, and report on KPIs including engagement, traffic, and content performance to uncover actionable insights.
• Build weekly and monthly performance reports to guide ongoing strategy.

What We Are Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in social media and content creation within beauty, wellness, or lifestyle.
• Demonstrated experience creating and managing content on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube shorts, and TikTok with a clear understanding of each platform's unique requirements.
• Proven track record directly managing or growing a brand's social presence.
• Strong video editing and storytelling skills, with experience in CapCut, Adobe Suite, or similar tools.
• Comfortable both behind and in front of the camera when needed.
• Deep understanding of social platforms, trends, and audience engagement strategies.
• Ability to interpret analytics and translate insights into strategy; familiarity with tools such as Dash Social a plus.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with creative, production, and brand teams.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable thriving in a fast-paced environment, with evolving priorities.
• Must be based in Los Angeles, CA.

Pay is based on several non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, skills, and location. IPSY offers a bonus and competitive benefits. Final compensation is determined by experience and skills.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 USD
