Part-Time Litigation Legal Assistant (Temporary Project )
Location: Downtown Chicago
Schedule: Onsite, 5 days/week
Compensation: $60,000–$80,000 annually (part-time, annualized; conversion to full-time eligible)
We are seeking a Part-Time Litigation Legal Assistant for a temporary project with a strong opportunity to convert to full-time. This role is fully onsite in a downtown Chicago law firm environment and requires hands-on litigation support experience.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, file, and manage state and federal court filings
- Handle electronic filing through Odyssey (state courts) and PACER/CM-ECF (federal courts)
- Assist with pleadings, motions, discovery, and court correspondence
- Monitor filing deadlines, docket activity, and court notices
- Coordinate service of process and maintain case files
- Provide general litigation administrative support to attorneys
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a litigation legal assistant or legal secretary
- Required: State and federal e-filing experience, including Odyssey and PACER/CM-ECF
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work onsite five days per week in downtown Chicago
- Comfortable stepping into a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Additional Information:
Personal Time Off (PTO) is offered on an accrual basis up to 184 hours a year, 13 Paid Holidays, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. PTO and holiday hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year.
