Doernbecher PeriAnesthesia Registered NurseThe OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations.The RN is responsible for participating in the growth of the nursing profession and continuous improvement to achieve best practice in our unit to increase the value of care we provide to our patients and families. Fast-paced, patient and family-centered, pediatric PeriAnesthesia care is provided in this department.Function/Duties of PositionDoernbecher PeriAnesthesia is committed to a professional practice environment emphasizing role and relationship competence. RNs provide care consistent with ASPAN standards and evidence-based practice, while contributing to the growth of the profession and continuous improvement in patient care.This fast-paced, patient- and family-centered department serves pediatric patients from neonates to young adults, including ambulatory and inpatient surgeries, urgent/emergent procedures, after-hours sedation, and prolonged procedural recoveries. RNs maintain positive collegial relationships with all interdisciplinary team members.Required QualificationsMinimum 2 years' experience in Pediatric PeriAnesthesia (pre-op, Phase I & II recovery); Current experience in a tertiary hospital settingBSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date.ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date.Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hireCurrent, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse LicenseBLS from AHA required. New hires will be enrolled and required to complete during orientationMust be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodationAdditional DetailsLength of Orientation – Experienced NurseExternal candidates: OHSU & Nursing New Employee Orientation (NEO) for about a week.Either Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Specialty Fellowship/Fellowship Learning Pathway or Orientation experience for 3 days-26 weeks depending on the care area.
